[based on a dream] Tranquility

Some time ago, I had a rather strange dream - specifically, a fandom-related dream, which by itself is very unusual for me, since I don't normally dream about fictional characters or settings. Which is a shame, really, considering how much time I spend thinking, writing and drawing for my fandoms.

It was a surprisingly coherent dream, centered around Wilbur Whateley and Marceline Bedard and what I would tentatively call their 'working relationship'. Wilbur lived in the family house in Dunwich with his twin (locked up in the attic and excluded from the fun), and Marceline would drop by from time to time and stay for a while. They had gathered all sorts of weird artifacts to use and study, and had a To Do List of rituals to perform. The dream seemed to be 'drawn' in a style identical with my own. Parts of it were similar to comic-book pages, but most of it was animated. Needless to say, it was awesome to see 'my' drawings move! Among the high-lights were seeing Wilbur Whateley walk backwards and Marceline Bedard's hair move and even attack.

Also, at one point Marceline obtained a guitar, which I later realized was a reference to another character named Marceline who also owns a guitar. Subconscious references are the best references, imo. Anyway, here's the painting I used to inspiration/reference, by Richard Edward Miller. Look him up, he's fantastic.

I'm going to do two more drawings based on this dream, but I can't tell you when they'll be finished.
