Description
Whenever a supernatural creep decides to drop by, they usually announce their arrival in some way - mysterious noises, flickering lights, onslaught of cockroaches, etc.
Perse ('Duma Key', by Stephen King) announced her arrival by tennis balls.
In her defence, this is used to a great effect in the book, where the tennis balls first 'appear' in the resident mad artist's paintings, so you know real bad things are gonna happen when entire crates filled with professional quality tennis balls are washed ashore...
Also, in the book Perse's hair is described in a rather interesting way - "... the breeze blows apart the snakes of her hair..." - but I felt like drawing tentacle-hair rather than snake-hair.

Yesterday I finished reading Duma Key, Dark-Precipice, so I can post a more appropriate comment about Perse. One third of book pages was enough for the plot but it's definitely a Lovecraftian novel. 
Oblique reference to HPL and hints to Perse's nature, maddening sight, mind influence and supernatural servitors quite lead me to conclude that she's really one of the Great Old One.
